After coming to power, these are the first elections being fought on the Congress party symbol. Naturally, there is huge anticipation on the outcome. The Congress too took the polls prestigiuosly with CM Revanth Reddy touring the districts prior to municipolls.
Well, his efforts seem to have paid off. Or so it appears. According to the exit polls, the ruling Congress is set to win big in five municipal corporations. The exit polls further said that in municipalities, BRS will stand after the Congress while BJP will lead in corporations.
Following polling on Wednesday, two agencies have announced exit polls. Both surveys showed that the ruling Congress will have a clear majority in five municipal corporations. In Nizamabad and Karimnagar, the BJP is likely to have a majority.
According to the survey by People’s Pulse, barring Nizamabad, the Congress will be leading in all municipal corporations. Congress will lead in municipalities, it said. In Nizamabad though, the survey says, most seats are likely to go to the BJP.
Pulse Today carried out a survey and said that the Congress will make a clean sweep in five municipal corporations. It said that the BJP emerged as the single largest party in Karimnagar and Nizamabad, though no party is likely to get a clear majority. The survey found that Congress will be in second spot in Karimnagar after the BJP. Interestingly, in Karimnagar, MIM will be second, the survey said.
It has to be noted that BRS is lost in the crowd due to lack of strong leadership and party coordination.
