Tirupati MLA, Venkata Ramana (TDP) has suffered a massive heart attack on Saturday night. He is immediately shifted to Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) in Tirupati and is admitted in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His condition is said to be critical and doctors say they can not say anything about his condition now.
Venkata Ramana previously underwent two By-Pass surgeries. Venkata Ramana jumped TDP from the Congress just before election. Chandrababu Naidu chose him over the previous aspirant Chadalawada Krishnamurthy since he is considered as a winning horse. Venkata Ramana trounced his nearest rival from YSR Congress, former MLA B. Karunakar Reddy by a margin of 41,531 votes. Irony is that the latter won over the former in the 2012 by-election by a margin of over 19,000 votes.
