K.Lakshman is appointed as the new President of Telangana BJP the other day. Lakshman is considered as non-controversial and so he is given the chance to steady the ship in Telangana. The major issue before BJP in Telangana is regarding the friendship with TDP as party is divided in two on this issue.

However Lakshman seem to have chosen middle way for now on the issue. Speaking to media on the issue, Lakshman said elections are still far away and so there is no need to discuss about the alliances now. He stressed on the need to fight on the problems of the people and strengthen the party from grass root level.
Lakshman is currently the Floor leader of the party in Assembly. With him being the President of the party, the outgoing President, Kishan Reddy may be made the floor leader of the party in Telangana Assembly. But we are said Kishan Reddy is more keen on getting some post at the National level.
