TS Govt withdraws power for Submerging villages!

KCR Telangana-industriesDays after Telangana Chief Minister K chandra Sekhar Rao grandly announced that the government has shown mercy on the submerging villages of Polavaram project and is giving power to those villages despite losing them to Andhra Pradehs, Northern Power Distribution Company Limited (NDPCL) in Telangana stopped Power supply to Rural Water Supply (RWS) schemes exisiting in these villages.

NDPCL alleged that the gram panchayats of Kukkunuru and Velerupadu mandals, presently in West Godavari district owe them Power bills of about 2.09 crore and decided to stop the power supply. The drinking water needs in the merged villages are supplied by pumping the Godavari water and groundwater through the RWS schemes and power for these villages is being supplied from the 32KV feeder station at Burgampahad in Telangana.
