It is known that KCR blocked two popular Telugu channels Tv9 and ABN after taking over the power in Telangana. While Tv9 aired a mockery episode on TRS MLAs, ABN was shutdown with out such reason. Even after three months there is no respite for the black-out of these channels in Telangana. While Tv9 approached Telecom Dispute Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) recently to help resume their services, ABN Radha Krishna aired a special story yesterday on how KCR is trying to mute the media who criticize his governance.
In this regard, Tv9 Anchor Swecha, TV9 Delhi Bureau Head Shravan and Correspondent Ramu tried for silent protest at KCR’s home in Delhi detained by police and released later. It is known that KCR is in Delhi on a quick tour. Swecha, talking to media said, blocking media channels with out any proper action by law indicates the dictatorship and does no good for the people, and thousands of jobs at stake including Telangana people who work for these channels. Even after center’s strong remarks in Rajyasabha and central minister’s warning to T-MSO’s, the black-out on these channels still continue. We will have to see where this issue will end.
