Vidadala Rajini, who earlier expressed regret over contesting from Guntur West, is now facing anger from people in her former constituency. She had previously won from Chilakaluripeta but lost in the 2024 elections after Jagan Mohan Reddy gave her the Guntur West ticket.
Since losing power, she became linked to a case involving the owner of a stone-crushing unit. She and her brother-in-law were accused of extorting Rs 2.2 crore from the victim, though the case has now faded from the spotlight.
A fresh problem has emerged in Chilakaluripeta, where posters have appeared reading “Jagane muddu, Rajini vaddu” with an X mark on her face. The discontent has spilled over to social media, where slogans against her are trending among locals.
The main reason for this sudden revolt is said to be her alleged high-handed behaviour despite losing her position. Her popularity has plunged, with YSRCP workers in Chilakaluripeta openly turning against her.
This raises the question of whether Jagan Mohan Reddy will step in to address the situation or if it is up to Rajini to reconnect with the grassroots to rebuild her influence.
