The government of Andhra Pradesh, led by YSRCP has been doing all it can to move the capital from Amaravati to Vizag. The government has been trying to shift the capital to Vizag despite the order from the High Court mandating against it.
Incidentally, Amaravati farmers filed a petition at the Andhra Pradesh high court, asking to order the AP government not to shift the capital to Vizag. The HC accepted the case and sent it to a triangular committee for further assessment. Te court ordered the AP government not to carry on with the capital shift till the committee submits the report.
The AP government had stated that they won’t carry on with the move to Vizag till the committee completes the investigation.
However, the YCP government then filed a lunch motion at the AP high court, seeking to fast-track the triangular committee investigating. The case came to hearing today and the lunch motion was quicky disposed of by the high court.
The court shut the AP government on its track with regard to the shifting of the capital to Vizag and mentioned that the investigation will commence next Tuesday. The attempt from AP government to fast track the process has been stopped in its track by the AP high court.
