It’s been several months since two popular Telugu channels Tv9 and ABN have been taken off on air. After KCR’s ‘break necks and bury media ten feet down the ground’, this issue became a hot topic at national level and later things have calmed down with out any further development. However, KCR still kept the media away from the recent prestigious Metropolis meet after getting the reports that journos were planning on protesting.
The latest we hear is Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) had ordered MSOs to air Tv9 signals after the channel came out with an open apology for the ‘defamatory’ episode. But MSOs still kept the Tv9 signals off the air. The TDSAT has now put the case up for hearing on 10th October and also ordered Telangana additional advocate general J Ramchandaran Rao to attend the court.
