The other day, Sasikala was elevated to the party’s General Secretary position after she accepted the resolution passed by the party’s General Council. Now, Sasikala has the power and has to work to get the votes and people’s love like Amma. But then the pending disproportionate assets cases will come to haunt her.

The questions are – Will there be sympathy for Sasikala if she is convicted in the court case? Will she be accepted as a stronger leader if acquitted? Also, there is a chance that she will be controlling the government from Poes Garden just like how Sonia Gandhi did from 10 Janpath putting up a dummy like Manmohan Singh as the Prime Minister.
In case, she is acquitted from those cases, Sasikala would want to repeat the feat as MGR and Jayalalithaa who simultaneously held the positions of Party’s Chief Secretary and that of the state Chief Minister. Until then she will be moving her pawns through Paneer Selvam who is more of a rubber stamp Chief Minister.
