It is common to see minor clashes between two political outfits and their respective groups. But this time around, in Vinukonda constituency, the situation went out of hand to an extent where the police had to fire shots in the air.
Going into the story, TDP leader and ex MLA GV Anjaneyulu’s group and TDP supporters were holding a protest in Vinukonda town. They were demanding to take down the false cases that were filed against Anjaneyulu.
Incidentally, YCP MLA Bolla Bramhanaidu came to the area at this time and he challenged the TDP supporters. He said he is ready for a discussion on the topic.
This led to a tense atmosphere there as the TDP and YCP troops started pelting stones at each other.
In order to bring the situation under control, the local CI, Sambasiva Rao fired shots in the air. Then there was reportedly a lathi charge on the TDP supporters.
This incident has fired by the Palnadu district politics and the warring groups have vowed to seek revenge in the next election.
