Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has come under attack for staying mum over the recent Union Budget where there are absolutely no allocations to Andhra Pradesh. Jagan seems to have finally decided to respond over it but in a subtle way.
Jagan did not come before media but dashed a letter to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He demanded Special Status to Andhra Pradesh and asked the Prime Minister to interfere in this issue. Jagan also mentioned that the Fifteenth Finance Commission categorically clarified that the Special Status is not in their purview.
He also mentioned that the Union Budget is not able to do justice for Andhra Pradesh. Jagan reminded the Prime Minister how all the revenue sources have gone to Telangana during the state bifurcation and how Andhra Pradesh needs the handholding of the Center now.
“This is a mere eyewash, a formality. Jagan is doing that just for the sake of doing. All those talks of taming the center before the elections have disappeared into thin air. Probably, the fear of cases haunting him. He could not at least criticize the center before media,” a few people on the social media allege.
