The former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is known for his monopolistic policies. He is extremely unilateral when it comes to decision-making and correspondence as he’s the sole deciding factor in all of YCP’s major decisions.
The point of discussion now is about Vallabhaneni Vamsi, who happens to be one of the few leaders who trusted in Jagan before 2024 and switched to YSR Congress.
However, the horrifying defeat in the 2024 election, not just for Vamsi, but also the YSR Congress as a party changed the dynamic. Vamsi became an irrelevant leader in his own Gannavaram backyard, while Jagan has also lost much of the sheen after losing CM post.
However, the treatment that Vamsi has been getting from Jagan after the defeat has been very interesting to note.
Except a handful of occasions, Vamsi is having to meet Jagan from distance while out in the public. This has been happening extensively for the last few months.
Whenever Vamsi has been getting to meet Jagan, it is mostly in public forums where he is standing behind the baricade while Jagan is out. Even then, Jagan is taking only a few seconds to meet Vamsi and nothing beyond that.
A former MLA who trusted in Jagan and walked with him before 2024 and stuck with him even after the big defeat getting such external treatment is a point to be noted here.
There are a few people commenting publicly that Jagan appears to be showing Vamsi his place in the party hierarchy by keeping him at distance. But a few argue that this is Jagan’s style of politics and only leaders who are okay with it, can’t stay over here with him.
