YS Sharmila was very active in Andhra Pradesh before the 2024 election as she took part in the campaign against her brother Jagan, who was serving as the chief minister. At one point, it looks like Sharmila would be one of the busiest politicians in Andhra Pradesh.
But it appears that the humiliating defeat in the 2024 election, where Sharmila herself ended up losing the MP election from Kadapa appears to have had a negative effect.
Sharmila is not very active on the behalf of the Congress party in the recent past as she had not been participating in many public protests till date. Her presence with the Andhra Pradesh Congress wing has been strictly minimal in the recent past.
Even when the Congress party supporters in Andhra Pradesh, protested against the EVM allegations and demanded the resignation of Election commission, chief Gyanesh Kumar, Sharmila was nowhere to be seen.
At such a major event that was held in Vijayawada with active participation from Congress leaders and supporters across the state, the absence of the party president Sharmila is something to ponder over.
There are many political comments saying that Sharmila could very well be moving away from the Congress ecosystem, and her recent inactivity could be clearly indicating the same.
But this is far too premature to comment on her political loyalty is already. It must also be kept in mind that Sharmila has oversee the wedding activities of her daughter Anjili Reddy, who got engaged recently, and the wedding is happening soon.
