YSRCP has been losing its MLAs and MPs at a rate that even the party chief YS Jagan wouldn’t have expected when initiating the plan to reshuffle his candidates for the coming elections.
After losing a handful of MLAs to TDP already, YCP is seeing the exit of another MLA and it is Maheeder Reddy, the sitting MLA from Kandukur.
Maheedar Reddy met with TDP scion Nara Lokesh a short while ago and discussed his political plans. This is a direct indication that he is leaving YCP and switching to TDP. He was a Jagan loyalist for many years but appears to be vexed with the party and calling it quits before the election.
This comes right after YCP lost its Satyavedu MLA Adimulam to TDP after he too met Lokesh and joined TDP. The exodus of YCP MLAs and that too in the stronghold region of Jagan, Rayalaseema could have a story to tell regarding Andhra Pradesh political trends.
Meanwhile, TDP is preparing to announce its first list of MLA and MP candidates along with JSP. The party chief Chandrababu is meeting BJP top brass in Delhi to finalize the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance.
