SIT is moving quickly in the Tirumala Srivari laddoo adulteration case. As part of the investigation, officials are questioning former TTD chairman YV Subbareddy in Hyderabad.
SIT had earlier asked Subbareddy to appear in Vijayawada. He said he could not travel there, so SIT officials visited his Hyderabad residence to question him. The interrogation is underway.
Officials are questioning him about the adulterated ghee allegedly used in making Tirumala laddoos during his tenure. They are also asking about the supply of ghee, tie ups with companies, and decisions he made as TTD chairman.
SIT had previously arrested Appanna, the PA of YV Subbareddy, and questioned him. Officials say several key details emerged during that inquiry. Based on those findings, Subbareddy is now being interrogated.
There is rising interest in political circles about the next step SIT may take. Many are closely watching how the case progresses.
