What Is the Film About?
Ungarala Rambabu (Sunil) falls in love with Savitri (Mia George) thinking she would bring luck and help him make more money. However, there is a twist when Savitri reveals that the marriage needs her father approval. How Rambabu manages to win her father’s approval is what the film is all about?

How Is Sunil’s Performance?
Sunil is his usual self with nothing out of the expected. If there is anything different we have to say the actor plays everything in an understated way without any over action. He is fine in the simple sentiment scenes that didn’t require any heavy-duty emotional performance.

Direction by Kranthi Madhav ?
Kranthi Madhav has made two films Onamalu and Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju. They were both different from the usual regular commercial films. The films worked to whatever extent they did because the director stuck to the narrative and not much importance was given to the commercial elements. With Ungarala Rambabu he makes that commercial transition. Unfortunately, he fails at that.

The first half of the film is epic bore with not much happening in terms of the story. A simple love track and establishment of conflict is all that is done in the first half. The romantic track is dragged.

In the second half, the expected conflict is neatly built up and resolved in the end. But never in the process do we feel any involvement in the proceedings. There are few comedy scenes that work and the narrative is focused compared to the first half but it is flat. The ending has good dialogues but it is so simple and lacks any drama to make it memorable. Overall, Ungarala Rambabu is a disappointment coming from Kranthi Madhav.

Miya George and Others?
Miya George is decent in a role which does not require heavy duty performance despite a presence throughout the run of the movie. Posani starts well but gets repetitive. Prakash Raj is reliable as usual. Vennela Kishore is funny in small role he is given. Rajeev Kanakala is wasted. The rest doesn’t make any impact. Prakash Raj is reliable as usual. He is responsible for the films few engaging scenes and dialogues. If not for him the movie would have been a complete bore.

Music and Other Departments?
Ghibran is a talented composer but he doesn’t seem to understand commercial mass pulse requirements of Telugu cinema. The music and background score feels all over the place as a result even though there are interesting musical pieces. The cinematography is bland. Editing should have been better. Dialogues are alright.
