LEO IMAX Shows: US Distributor’s Dig

Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film, “LEO,” is setting the box office on fire. The pre-sales are smashing records and generating immense buzz. However, just a few days ago, the film encountered a significant setback when the IMAX prints weren’t ready. Major cinema chains like AMC, Regal, and Cinemark had to refund tickets, creating a major trouble for the overseas distributor.

Overseas Movie Distributors Prathyangira Cinemas had recently faced a similar scenario with “Salaar,” resulting in substantial refund processing. Once again, the blame was laid at the feet of the “Leo” team, citing misplanning by the director and the production house.

Now, there is a big relief. The IMAX shows have returned as scheduled, and the U.S. distributor seems to have taken a subtle jab at some individuals.

In a cryptic message, Prathyangira shared on their social media page , “We felt sad when IMAX shows were canceled, and many sympathized with us, while a few chose to laugh. But destiny and Thalapathy’s rule cannot be changed.” This statement appears to be aimed at those who found joy in the IMAX show cancellations.

Now that IMAX shows are back on track and regular screenings are gaining momentum, everything seems to be falling into place for “Leo” in the U.S. and overseas markets.

As we previously wrote, the film’s fate hinges on director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s vision and execution.

The excitement surrounding “Leo” is at an all-time high, and it’s now up to the director to meet these sky-high expectations and deliver a solid cinematic experience. The anticipation is real, and all eyes are on “Leo” to see if it can live up to the immense hype.
