
A trainee air hostess admitted to Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital on April 5 has claimed she was sexually harassed while in a semi-conscious state in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

In a complaint filed last week, 24 hours after she informed her husband of the alleged assault, the woman stated that she was unable to resist her attacker’s advances due to her weakened condition.
She also claimed that two female nurses were present at the time but did not intervene.

According to the complaint, the woman was initially admitted to a smaller hospital after nearly drowning in a swimming pool during her training.
She was then transferred to Medanta on April 5, where she reportedly underwent emergency treatment, including being placed on a ventilator, for over a week.

The alleged assault, committed by a ward staff member, occurred on April 6.

While some suggest this might be a fabricated case related to a hospital bill dispute, most people are deeply disturbed by the idea that someone could assault a semi-conscious woman in the presence of two nurses.
