A disturbing incident has come to light under Begumpet police station limits. An assistant pilot reported that she was sexually assaulted. She revealed the incident only after returning to Hyderabad, which brought the case into the open.
The assistant pilot was on duty on a business flight that travelled from Begumpet over Puttaparthi and Chennai to Bengaluru. The aircraft landed in Bengaluru at 4.20 pm. After that, she and two other pilots checked into a hotel arranged for their stay.
She later stepped out with both pilots in the evening. After they returned to the hotel, she says one of the pilots sexually assaulted her. She immediately reported the incident once she reached Hyderabad and filed a complaint at Begumpet police station.
Begumpet police registered the case at once. Since the assault happened in Bengaluru, they transferred the case to Bengaluru police as per procedure. Bengaluru police are now handling the investigation and collecting further evidence.
Women’s groups say sexual assaults continue because OTT platforms normalise sensational stories and penalties for such crimes still lack real force. They say strict action is the only way to stop sexual predators and make workplaces safer for women.
