Chinese Woman’s AI Boyfriend

Artificial-Intelligence-AI

A chatbot named “Glow” is used by Tufei, a Chinese lady from Xi’an, on an artificial intelligence platform. Shanghai start-up MiniMax developed the chatbot and is part of a developing Chinese sector that promotes cordial human-robot interactions. Even with concerns like period discomfort or work-related stress, Tufei, who goes by a pseudonym, finds solace in having a chatbot in her life.

The free Glow app, which has been commended by Chinese trade newspapers for its capacity to adapt to users’ personalities, has witnessed a spike in daily downloads in recent weeks, according to Chinese internet giants like Baidu. A 22-year-old student in Beijing named Wang Xiuting thinks AI might help those who are lonely because of China’s fast-paced lifestyle and remote cities.

Users may personalize their ideal partner using the app based on age, beliefs, identity, and activities. It is available for free, with additional premium material. Even while AI is still in its infancy, there are few regulations around it, especially regarding consumer privacy. Beijing is drafting legislation to improve consumer safeguards related to the new technology.
