Oh man, we thought we would have the chance to relive a few seconds of the iconic Martin Scorsese movie Taxi Driver through an advertisement. The Sun, a few days ago, claimed that we would have the chance to see De Niro uttering his famous lines from the iconic film.
But some dreams stay as dreams forever.
Stan Rosenfeld, the representative for De Niro, has officially verified that while the actor will indeed feature in an upcoming promotional campaign for Uber in the UK, he will not be portraying the iconic character Travis Bickle from his famous film role.
He states, “De Niro’s Uber commercial has nothing to do with his Taxi Driver character.”
De Niro has gifted us some of the best memories as cinephiles, offering us roles such as Jake LaMotta, Travis Bickle, and Jimmy Conway. As fans were really hopeful to hear the iconic phrase “You talkin’ to me?” but one positive side that comes out is that fans will at least have one glimpse of the iconic actor.
