Dirt Cheap Auction Of Dawood Ibrahim’s Property

Dawood Ibrahim Property Bidding

Whenever something associated with a famous person goes on auction, speculations around the price of it are always made. These associations often tend to have an impact on the selling price of the commodity. But what if the property belonged to a gangster? Government of India is going to auction a number of properties owned by the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

The surprising part about this auction is the low reserve price set by the government. The properties are going under hammer on Friday at a base price of ₹19 Lakh only. A low base price is often used to invite a larger number of bidders, however the infamous Dawood Ibrahim’s connection with the properties can have a role to play in it.

Agricultural lands are being auctioned by the government over which wild vegetation has grown and it’ll be sold on a ‘as is what is’ basis. Further the responsibility of transferring the property papers will also land on the successful bidder.

One of the potential bidders had bought property owned by Dawood before as well in 2001. He is still to get possession of that property as it is caught up in a legal dispute. Dawood Ibrahim was recently in the news when several mainstream media houses falsely reported his death.
