And when it comes to sales, a fair deal of exaggeration, lying or non-disclosure is always involved. But what if you find out that the lawyer you’ve been hiring all this time, the one who has won you several cases, is not even qualified to practice law? This is exactly what happened in Kenya where a man has been finally arrested for posing as a high court advocate after winning 26 trials.
Brian Mwenda, who had been attending and battling cases in several courts for a long time had never been questioned on his professional capability even by the judges. He had remained unbeaten in his career winning a total of 26 trials consecutively. He was able to manage such a feat even without a degree in law.
It was found that Mwenda had gained access to the Law Society of Kenya and stolen the identity of one Brian Mwenda Ntwiga. He changed all the details on the portal including address and his photo to ascertain this new stolen identity. After numerous public complaints, the Law Society of Kenya’s Rapid Action Team arrested him.
