People are becoming more aware of skincare today. It’s no longer limited to women—men, too, are serious about protecting their skin from sun damage, pollution, and aging. This awareness has led to a boom in skincare products, especially sunscreens.
Sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UV rays and premature aging. Every brand now sells versions with different SPF levels and skin types. But are all of them really offering what they claim on the label?
A Noida-based influencer, Nitin Joshi, recently tested ten sunscreens from various brands and exposed shocking results. He found that six of them offered less than half the SPF protection they promised, sparking outrage on social media.
Joshi revealed that he spent over ₹2.15 lakh from his own pocket for independent lab testing. Sharing the results on Instagram, he said his goal was to make people aware of what they’re applying to their skin every day.
The revelation has triggered a wider debate about product trust in the skincare industry. Experts are now advising users to check authenticity, certification, and reviews before purchasing any sunscreen to ensure real protection and avoid fake claims.
