Spearheaded by Indian-origin CEO Sundar Pichai, this move aims to increase the company’s efficiency, with many managers being assigned to the roles of individual contributors.

With such a significant change, the company will try to take on AI-focussed giants such as OpenAI, who are taking massive strides each hour of the day.
This move follows the company’s earlier decision in 2023 to slash 12,000 jobs to skyrocket productivity and meet current market demands.
