A fresh pairing and a story that moves beyond familiar romantic territory are among the elements of Alias Rukmini, the upcoming film featuring Nithiin. The makers have officially brought Bollywood actress Aafiya Sayed on board as the female lead. She will be seen as Rukmini, the character whose name takes centre stage in the film’s title.
The glimpse shows her authoritative presence in the school as a teacher. Her students describe her as a devil, Hitler, and the homework police, suggesting that they are afraid of her. She then writes her name on an artwork with an angry expression and gives the students a stern look. The character’s arrogant personality is also highlighted in the glimpse.
Aafiya recently ventured into films with Prem Keetanu, and Alias Rukmini will see her share the screen with Nithiin. The film marks her Telugu debut. Directed by Murali Kanth Devasoth of Dhandora fame, the film is produced by Deepthi Ganta under Natural Star Nani’s Unanimous Productions.
The makers previously released an announcement glimpse, followed by the first look poster recently. As announced earlier, Alias Rukmini is set for a December 4 release.
