Social media gives many youngsters a platform to express themselves and connect, but careless use can also bring serious consequences. A recent case from Guntur shows how an online friendship between minors can turn risky.
A 17-year-old girl from Kobalt Peta came into contact with a 17-year-old boy from the same area through Instagram. Their chats soon turned into a romantic relationship. Over time, they met multiple times and became physically close.
According to reports, the girl became pregnant. When her family discovered the situation, they were shocked and immediately approached the police.
Based on the complaint, the Pattabhipuram police registered a case against the boy under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The investigation is currently underway.
Since both individuals are minors, the case serves as a reminder of the dangers linked to unsafe online interactions. Authorities are urging parents to guide their children about internet safety and keep an eye on social media usage.
