Hinduphobic Statement Calls For Jawan Boycott

Jawan BoycottShah Rukh Khan’s Jawan released globally this Thursday and the movie is already on the path of breaking many records. It is expected to turn in ₹125 crore on the first day only as the pre-booking sales were already over ₹40 crore. But amid this success, a controversy is arising that calls for the boycott of the movie.

The controversy started after Udayanidhi Stalin made alleged derogatory remarks on Sanatan Dharm and called for its eradication. His company Red Giant is said to be distributing the movie Jawan in the state of Tamil Nadu. So the protestors took to X and called for a boycott of the film. They said that watching the movie would lead to their own demise if they are Sanatani.

Some of the users on X found this conclusion of watching Jawan meaning supporting Stalin’s stand a bit far reaching. Some of the users came in support of the boycott accusing Bollywood of destroying Indian culture and degrading Hindu religion.

Amidst this controversy some people also clarified that Red Giant is not actually distributing the movie but only arranging for the theatres for the original distributor, Sree Gokulam Movies Gopalan.

The effect of this boycott call on the film is not visible in theatres which are mostly housefull on the first day. Boycott calls for Pathan rather worked in favour of the film making it a blockbuster and this might be the case in Jawan as well.
