A shocking Telegram scam has surfaced in Hyderabad. A software engineer from Balanagar lost Rs 54.67 lakh after falling for an online job offer on Telegram. The message promised easy income by rating products.
He first sent Rs 5,000 and soon received Rs 12,500 in return. Believing it was genuine, he continued transferring money over the next few days, sending about Rs 7 lakh in total.
The scammers then demanded more payments for VIP access, credit score upgrades, and withdrawal fees. Trusting them, he kept paying until his total loss reached Rs 54.67 lakh.
When they asked for another Rs 8 lakh, he realised it was a scam and approached the police. Officials have filed a case and started investigating to track down the fraudsters.
Cybercrime officers advised you to stay alert. No legitimate company asks for payments to provide jobs or commissions. Avoid trusting online offers that promise quick or easy money.
