India Posts Paltry Total Against Disciplined Aussies!

IND vs AUS Worldcup Final Match

Before the final even started, India definitely looked like the favorite. Even right now, we fans are backing them as India can always pull off a miracle, but on the grounds of reality, India’s innings don’t really look convincing as Australia manages to pull off something special.

India’s skipper Rohit Sharma hit some biggies as India managed to pile up a good total of 80 in the first 10 overs. But after that, boys in blue not only fought it out with the Aussies but also fought against fate.

It’s not that the entire lineup failed. There were some sparks as Kohli and KL managed to stand as the pillars of the innings. Both the boys managed to score 50+ but couldn’t follow it through with more runs.

On the other hand, Australia showed class. From the very beginning, the field was solid as a rock, as the bowlers managed to hit consecutive wickets. The pacers of Australia managed to show a magical innings on a pitch which was supposed to be ‘spin-friendly’.

Cummins also showed good intelligence in captaincy and went hand in hand with Sharma. Being greatly economical, he also managed to grab some wickets along with Starc, who took 3.

Even a batter like Surya had to play it safe as he couldn’t just risk getting out. Though there was some attempt to utilize the bowler’s pace, Australia looked intelligent as Hazlewood bowled consecutive slowers. And one such slower also got him out; it was not Sky’s day.

The lack of boundaries also affected the low total of India. Australia’s great fielding, good bowling, and constant pressure resulted in the low total. India, the favorites, are now looking like the underdogs as Australia managed to pull something miraculous out of their hats.

As the innings ended, India stands at a doubtful 240 as Siraj tried to hit some at the very end of the innings. If dew doesn’t come, on such a slow pitch, India made a competitive total. If Australia bats, India will have to do more than just good bowling.
