Throughout the years, Bangalore has been a massive victim of traffic jams, and previously, a fascinating report came out.
The report highlights that inefficient traffic management in Bangalore not only leads to an annual economic loss of approximately 19,725 crores but also, perhaps even more significantly, results in the loss of 700,000 hours of valuable time for the people, which is truly concerning.
According to the statement from local traffic control, multiple factors affected the massive influx. On Wednesdays, traffic was twice the usual volume, which typically ranges from 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh vehicles. However, on September 27, the vehicle count surged to a staggering 3.5 lakh by 7:30 pm.
It is reported that most employees wanted to beat the traffic, but a majority of them went out at the same time, which created a massive clog in the traffic system.
Many people used social media to express their disappointment with the system. Some even shared a plethora of funny incidents, such as one user who ordered Domino’s Pizza during the Bangalore traffic jam, and they actually delivered.
Some employees also had to walk as long as 10-12 km because there were no cabs or Rapido available. Even a couple of users shared screenshots of Google Maps where the map predicted that it would be quicker to reach a destination on foot.
