A 25-year-old airhostess, Janvi Gupta, ended her life in Rajendranagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad. She worked with Indigo Airlines and was from Jammu.
Police say Janvi partied with her friends before the incident. In the early hours, she was found hanging in her room. She had been staying in a rented apartment with two colleagues and a friend.
Following a complaint from her mother, police filed a case and began their investigation. The friend present at the time, a captain from Indigo Airlines, was among those questioned.
As per reports, the captain arrived in Hyderabad late Thursday night after Janvi invited him. He joined her and two others at her flat in Rajendranagar. The group partied through the night.
Around 4 a.m., Janvi went into her room and didn’t return. When she didn’t respond for 40 minutes, her friends broke open the door and found her dead. The case has shocked many and raised questions about stress and mental health among young professionals.
