Hard work always pays off, no matter how much difficulty life gives you. This is the case for Ritasha Sobti, a girl who was born with a neurological disorder called cerebral palsy and who has cleared her civil services exams. Ritasha is from Chandigarh and she always aims high, no matter what challenges come in her life.
Cerebral palsy is a disorder that affects a person’s ability to control their muscles. It is caused by abnormal brain development, usually when the baby is growing in the womb. There is no proper treatment for this condition, but it can be managed.
Many people with this incurable disease give up and lose hope for living their life. But Ritasha not only lives with this condition, but also pursues her dream of civil services and cracks the UPSC exams.
Her father, Rakesh Sobti, works in the private sector, and her mother is a government school teacher. She missed the cut-off by two marks in 2021, but in 2022 she got an AIR of 920 with geography as her optional subject.
