“For Media, Oops Moment Matter More Than Respect”

An old video of Kriti Sanon has gone viral again, reminding fans of the time she strongly criticised the voyeuristic culture surrounding female actors in India.

Speaking with Galatta India, Kriti opened up about the discomfort caused by intrusive photography. She explained how such behaviour makes life in the spotlight more challenging for women in the film industry.

Kriti revealed that whenever she wears short dresses, she often asks her co-stars to stand in front of her to stop paparazzi from capturing inappropriate angles.

“I don’t trust people who are clicking pictures,” she admitted, pointing out that some images are deliberately zoomed in and shared online to create sensational content.

She also compared how media handles such moments differently across the world. Citing Priyanka Chopra’s incident where she tripped on stage, Kriti praised the international press for respecting her dignity and avoiding embarrassing visuals.

In contrast, she noted that Indian media often highlights “body parts” or pushes wardrobe malfunction stories simply for clicks.

“There needs to be mutual respect,” Kriti stressed, urging photographers and media outlets to rethink how they represent female actors.

Her remarks resonated with many, sparking wider discussion about privacy and respect for women in public life. Though the clip is old, it continues to circulate online, showing the issue remains relevant today.
