A shocking video from Birsa Munda Jail in Ranchi has gone viral, showing two prisoners dancing inside the jail premises. The prisoners were identified as liquor scam accused Vidhu Gupta and GST scam accused Vicky Bhalotia.
After the video spread online, jail authorities came under heavy criticism. Two officials, including an assistant jailer and a warder, were suspended. The state government also ordered an inquiry into how the prisoners got such access and privileges.
Reports suggest both accused enjoyed special treatment, including a separate room, TV, and cooler. The footage has sparked anger over how wealthy and influential inmates continue to get VIP comforts behind bars.
BJP state president Babulal Marandi demanded a full judicial probe. He said all inmates must be treated equally, and any VIP privileges inside prison are against the law and public trust.
The government assured strict action and promised that no prisoner will receive special treatment in the future. Officials said steps are being taken to tighten supervision and accountability in the jail system.
