Even though monogamy is primarily practiced in India, there are cases where the culture of having more than one wife is observed. The news comes from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, where a man got married twice, and both of his wives observed the Karwa Chauth fast for him. This incident has gone viral, and people are gossiping about it.
The man was originally married to a woman eight years ago, and they also have children together. However, last year, he fell in love with someone else, and as their affair became known to people, they confessed to everyone. Eventually, his first wife also agreed to it, and now the two wives are living in the same house with the man after their marriages.
These women do not engage in any kind of conflict, as they have accepted each other as sisters. Even the newer wife loves the children of the first wife as if they were her own. As this was the first Karwa Chauth for the new wife, they celebrated it together by observing a full-day fast and ending it with their husband.
While some people may consider this situation unfair, it is their personal choice, and others do not have the right to question them. What are your opinions on polygamy?
