On Wednesday afternoon customers and staff working with the State Bank of India, Shahganj, Unnao got the surprise of their life when a stray bull stormed into the bank.
A video appearing on social media of the incident shows the bull entering the bank along with the open door and as if it would wait for its turn and pops out on the counter. the security guard tried to chase the bull away with a stick, and asked the customers to move back.
Its chief manager, the bank’s Gaurav Singh said that the bull had followed another one that was fighting with it outside the bank. He further stated that no one was injured and the situation was stabilized shortly.
This incident has triggered a wave of jokes and memes online, with many making fun of the bank’s poor service and security. There were those who wondered whether the bull was searching for the Rs 15 lakh promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and some others commented that the bank should have requested the bull to come after lunch.
The largest bank in India, SBI, has been receiving much flak in recent times due to its frequent technical glitches, lengthy queues, and delayed transactions. The bank has also been linked to numerous scams and frauds, running into thousands of crores of rupees. The recent move, whereby a Bull entered the bank, only added more woes to it, which also cast doubt on its credibility and safety .
