Parkinson’s disease, the notorious CNS dysfunction, that impairs the ability of the patient to carry out daily tasks, gets a new treatment. This time in the form of an electronic chip.
Scientific research related to a cure for both Parkinson’s and a way to fit a chip inside the brain has been in the works for decades now. What earlier used to be a sci-fi fantasy, is now a reality.
In the viral video, an old-male patient is seen suffering from Parkinson’s, his limbs trembling, a common symptom of the disease. The chip is already put inside his brain. The moment the chip got turned on by a computer, the tremors stopped. To confirm that the symptom was cured, the patient was tested for the finger-to-nose test (the subject has to touch his nose with a finger and the finger of the doctor held in front of him), which he passed.
According to estimates, a total of 8.5 million individuals have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s worldwide. Its symptoms grow fastest among all neurological diseases. This is what makes it so dreadful.
