A short clip of an Indian woman at a Polish mall has gone viral, creating a major debate on consent and cultural behaviour. The video shows the woman trying to kiss a small boy on the cheek inside a mall elevator.

The boy moves back during the first attempt. When she tries again, he quickly steps away with an uncomfortable smile and exits the lift. This 19 second reel triggered widespread anger online.

Thousands of users labelled the woman “creepy” and a “pedophile.” Many argued that the boy’s reaction clearly showed discomfort and viewed the act as harassment. Several people demanded strict action against her.

In a follow up video, the woman defended herself. She said the boy was her best friend’s child and that she had the mother’s consent to post the clip. She also claimed she was not familiar with European norms and insisted she did not touch the boy forcefully.

Some supporters argued that kissing children is common in India and seen as a motherly gesture. They called it a cultural misunderstanding rather than harassment. But most users disagreed and criticised her for attempting to kiss the boy again after he backed away the first time.

Many also pointed out that if the genders were reversed, the man would likely have been jailed. Online rumours suggest that Polish authorities may press charges, but these claims are unverified for now.
