A lot of us wish to become millionaires overnight. A desire to inherit a royalty from a secret relative you never knew about. These fantasies always remain mere impractical desires for us. But for Rajkumar, a cab driver from Chennai, the dream came true and he became a billionaire within a few seconds.
Rajkumar received a message from his bank that ₹9000 crores has been deposited in his bank account. At first he was shocked and thought that it was a joke. But he checked his account balance and found that it was true. The bank had sent the amount to his account by mistake.
Within a time period of 30 minutes, the bank debited all the money back from his account. But by this time Rajkumar had already managed to transfer ₹21,000 to a friend. The bank had informed him that it was a mistake and further advised him to not make any withdrawals.
He was also threatened by a bank official with a police complaint but he met the bank officials with his lawyer. They decided to let him keep the money he already transferred and also offered him a car loan. The incident took place at the Tamilnad Mercantile Bank.
