Sakshi Chopra, a famous musician and TV personality, made serious allegations against the creators of Netflix’s Social Currency reality show. She revealed her horrible experience on the program on social media, accusing the producers of breaking her contract and depriving her of food. Sakshi, the granddaughter of Moti Sagar, son of Ramanand Sagar, revealed her alleged mistreatment on the show.
Her contract required a daily phone chat with her mother. Her phone was confiscated when she tried to reveal the show’s creators’ misdeeds. She further claimed that the filmmakers forced her to make provocative noises and stroke people’s backs for food.
Sakshi wrote, “SEXUAL HARASSMENT” at Netflix India and Sol Productions. She said Netflix and Chad persuaded her to join the show. They promised her it was a game show with pleasant activities like singing and content production, without gossip or controversy. However, reality differed from a promise. The candidates were not fed, even behind the cameras, and the producers broke their promise to call them daily. Sakshi lamented how someone could deceive her to persuade her to sign a contract and lock her in a house.
She further said that the filmmakers assumed she would accept such maltreatment based on her flamboyant clothing. She only wanted music, family, self-expression, and tranquility. Sakshi also said that the producers left another participant, “him,” to be trapped in the home with her. This claustrophobic circumstance showed the show’s creators’ low morals and willingness to do everything for sensational entertainment.
The producers forcibly took Sakshi’s phone when she sought to tell her mother, Meenakshi, about her trauma. Netflix and the Social Currency production team are under scrutiny throughout this incident. Their answer to Sakshi Chopra’s severe claims is awaited. This debate will shape reality TV and platforms’ responsibilities to protect players.
