Smriti Mandhana’s wedding has been postponed after a sudden health scare and a wave of confusing reports. The remaining ceremonies were cancelled when the situation took an unexpected turn, and social media only added to the uncertainty.
Early reports claimed that Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, was rushed to Sarvhit Hospital with heart attack like symptoms during the wedding preparations. Doctors conducted an ECG and other tests and suggested the symptoms may have been caused by stress. Only the pheras were left when the decision to delay the wedding was made.
Soon after, some outlets reported that groom Palash Muchhal was also hospitalised in Sangli, while others denied it. Palash’s mother Amita later stated that he was emotionally overwhelmed, returned to Mumbai and was resting and recovering. She said he was very close to Shrinivas and insisted the ceremony wait until the family was well.
Social media activity intensified speculation. Smriti deleted her marriage posts, and Jemimah Rodrigues along with other friends removed photos and videos from the functions. No clear explanation has been given by either family for this sudden cleanup.
Right now, both families are prioritising health and recovery. There is no official update on a new wedding date, and further details are expected once the situation stabilises.
