In a bizarre case doing the rounds on the internet, visuals show a police cop performing CPR on a snake which has supposedly been exposed to pesticide-laced water. The case belongs to Madhya Pradesh’s Narmadapuram and the cop is being lauded by netizens for his act of outstanding bravery which saved the venomous snake’s life.
The constable in question is Atul Sharma and was posted at the Semiharchand police outpost. Reports tell that he had responded to a call from the residents of Tawa Colony who reported that there was a snake in their home. Sharma swiftly reached the location, but the residents had rendered the snake unconscious by pouring toxic pesticide-laced water inside the pipeline the snake had sought shelter in.
Sharma said that he had learnt snake rescue from Discovery channel, proving him to be self-taught in this extremely delicate practice. In the video, we see him carefully extracting the snake, rinsing its mouth and then literally ‘breathe life’ into it as he brings the snake back from death’s door by performing CPRs.
The video has gone viral and has been receiving immense praise from users worldwide. One such user took to ‘X’, formerly known as ‘Twitter’, to express his glee by commenting, “so good, this policeman deserves great appreciation” while another wrote, “that smile says everything” referring to the joy of the surrounded crowd after the snake was rejuvenated.
