A disturbing case has emerged from Bengaluru, where two college lecturers have been accused of gangraping a female student.
The incident has triggered shock and concern among students and parents in the city.
According to police, the accused include Narendra, a physics lecturer, and Sandeep, a biology lecturer, along with their friend Anoop.
The girl has alleged that the lecturers first befriended her by offering help with study notes and academic support.
Over time, their behavior reportedly turned inappropriate. The student claimed that she was lured to a private location under the pretext of study sessions, where she was sexually assaulted by the two lecturers and their friend.
The survivor later approached the police, and based on her complaint, an FIR was registered. Preliminary investigation confirmed some evidence supporting her statement.
All three accused have been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code related to sexual assault and criminal conspiracy.
Police have taken two of the accused into custody and are on the lookout for the third. Medical tests and further forensic procedures are underway. The college administration has yet to release an official response.
The case has once again raised serious questions about student safety and the abuse of authority by those in academic positions. Authorities have assured a thorough and impartial investigation.
Student groups have demanded strict action and safeguards to prevent such exploitation within educational institutions.
As the legal process unfolds, the focus remains on ensuring justice for the survivor and accountability for those found guilty.
