Natural calamities generally come unannounced, and the consequences are pretty significant in nature as well. We are a similar scenario that has happened in Venezuela country now as a massive earthquake has triggered a human tragedy of big magnitude.
The country was hit by not one but two waves of earthquakes earlier, and the magnitude of human loss is absolutely phenomenal.
A couple of earthquakes, the first measuring a magnitude of 7.2 and the second measuring 7.5, were reported Wednesday night in northwest Venezuela, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
It is estimated that somewhere between 10,000 to 1,00,000 people have sadly lost their lives in this natural calamity and the exact figure of the same will be established at a later point in time.
Rescue workers could be seen at the site of a collapsed building in Caracas, and people were forced to evacuate swaying buildings.
Due to the shocking impact of the earthquake, that massively hit the mainly populated parts across the country, buildings collapsed, roads and infrastructure were damaged, and rescue teams have been deployed as emergency crews search for survivors.
Authorities have not yet released an official casualty toll, but the U.S. Geological Survey warned the disaster could result in high casualties due to debris and property damage.
