RCB’s Shameful Record Broken: IND vs PAK in Final

India are into the Asian Games 2026 final after beating Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the second semi final.

Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 45 in 9.5 overs as India set up a gold medal clash against Pakistan.

Sri Lanka won the toss and invited India to bat first, but India’s batters struggled on the pitch.

Shreyas Iyer scored 13, while Axar Patel made 8 and Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma managed only seven runs each.

Ishan Kishan was the big difference with the bat. He remained unbeaten on 80 off 46 balls, hitting four fours and five sixes. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also gave India important runs, scoring 38 off 21 balls with six fours and two sixes.

India finished on 169/7 in 20 overs, but Sri Lanka’s chase was over almost as soon as it started.

Jasprit Bumrah struck twice in the first over. Sineth Jayawardene was dismissed for a duck before Sohan de Livera was caught behind for another duck. Ravi Bishnoi then ran out Lasith Croospulle in the second over.

Axar Patel added two more wickets in the fourth over as Sri Lanka slipped to 18/5. The wickets kept falling and Sri Lanka were eventually all out for 45 in just 9.5 overs.

Sri Lanka’s 45 all out was even lower than RCB’s infamous 49 in IPL 2017, giving the game another unwanted record.

India completed a 124 run win and booked their place in the Asian Games final. Pakistan had already reached the final after beating Bangladesh by six wickets.

So, it is India vs Pakistan for the gold medal. There was also a clear contrast with the previous day’s cricket.

India and West Indies had played an ODI in Guwahati where 811 runs were scored, while this T20 saw India’s batters struggle for runs and Sri Lanka lose all 10 wickets for just 45.

Different format, different conditions, and a completely different game. But this is what makes today’s pitch interesting. Batters had to work for their runs, while bowlers had enough help to stay in the game. India are into the final. Pakistan are next. Gold medal on the line.
