It is already known that Jio Hotstar is the exclusive platform that is streaming the ongoing season of IPL 2025. Until last year, it was Jio cinema that was streaming IPL free of cost for all users.
But starting this year, it is Jio Hotstar, which has become the exclusive digital streaming partner for IPL. Also, it is now a requisite to have a valid data plan to be able to stream the tournament.
However, there is this one major complaint about Jio Hotstar that has become an issue and there is a lot of discussion on the same.
While streaming IPL on Jio Hotstar, there are this occasional bits of lag and jerks. Occasionally, there are these jolts while streaming. The streaming is getting struck at one point and after this jerk, the stream is going back by 10-15 seconds and getting struck at the same point again.
This could be a technical glitch but it doesn’t feel right to experience such a problem while streaming. Particularly, during high intensity matches, having such lags and jolts tampers with the whole experience.
Previously, there were no such issues during the Jio Cinema time. This is coming up only in the new platform of Jio Hotstar after the merger of these two platforms. This needs to be addressed on priority by the concerned technical team as this is going to be a crucial issue as the season progresses and more intense action follows.
