Why does the past keep returning for Mohammed Shami? The Indian fast bowler recently said he is moving on, leaving controversies behind and focusing only on cricket. But just as he was closing that chapter, his estranged wife Hasin Jahan reopened it with a cryptic post on social media.
Hasin Jahan’s Strong Words
Without naming Shami, Hasin Jahan wrote on Instagram that if she had to be scared, she would have been scared back in 2018, when she filed an FIR against the pacer and his family.
She had accused him of domestic violence and even match-fixing at that time. Her latest words, “try as hard as you want to scare me or ruin me, I will only get stronger,” made it clear that she does not plan to remain silent.
Shami’s Calm Response
On the other hand, Shami has maintained his calm. In a recent interview, when asked about regrets, he firmly said he does not want to blame anyone, including himself. “What’s gone is gone,” he said, adding that his focus is completely on cricket.
A Long Battle Since 2014
Their story began in 2014 when Shami and Jahan got married. Four years later, the marriage broke down, leading to a very public fight.
Jahan called him a “womaniser” and accused him of not supporting their daughter’s education. Shami chose not to respond directly, instead letting his cricketing performances speak for him. For fans, the contrast is striking: one side refuses to let go, while the other refuses to look back.
A Conflict Without Closure
Jahan’s latest post shows that this battle is far from over. Every time Shami claims he is moving on, she replies with a reminder of the past. The big question is, will this ever end, or will it remain an unending chapter in both their lives?
