Jadeja’s Ranji Century: Is BCCI Taking Him for Granted?

Ravindra Jadeja Ranji Trophy Century 102

Ravindra Jadeja has already retired from T20 international cricket, which leaves him focused on ODI and Test cricket for India.

With his place in the team still important, his latest Ranji Trophy century for Saurashtra gives him another chance to show that he remains ready for the longer formats.

Playing against Chhattisgarh in the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy, Jadeja scored 102 runs off 209 balls, hitting seven fours.

It was his 16th first class century and came at a time when scoring runs in domestic cricket can help him stay in rhythm ahead of India’s upcoming assignments.

Ravindra Jadeja‘s innings also helped Saurashtra reach 392 in their first innings. Prerak Mankad led the scoring with 129 runs, while Chirag Jani added 83. Jadeja’s patient knock gave Saurashtra another major contribution from an experienced international player.

Interestingly, Jadeja’s innings ended when Dharmendrasinh Jadeja dismissed him for 102. The two have previously played together for Saurashtra, but Dharmendrasinh was representing Chhattisgarh in this match.

For Ravindra Jadeja, the bigger focus will be carrying this form into international cricket. With T20Is no longer part of his career, performances in domestic cricket can help him stay prepared for ODI and Test opportunities.

The century is a positive sign, but consistent performances will matter most as he looks to maintain his place in India’s plans.
