IPL 2026 Opener: Tickets Gone, Fans Left Frustrated

Tickets for the Indian Premier League 2026 opener between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad sold out within minutes. This left many fans frustrated during the booking process.

The match is scheduled for March 28 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. It marks the first IPL game at the venue after the tragic stampede during RCB’s 2025 title celebrations.

Ticket sales opened at 4 pm, but most seats were gone almost instantly. Several fans reported payment failures even after reaching the checkout stage.

Prices ranged from Rs 3,750 to Rs 47,000. RCB has also reserved 11 seats at every home game as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the 2025 incident.

Many fans took to X to share complaints. Some alleged that tickets were pre-allocated to VVIPs or resold at higher prices.

Others said seats became unavailable within seconds across all price categories. Only a small number of fans managed to secure tickets successfully.

Concerns may continue for upcoming high-demand matches. This includes the clash between RCB and Chennai Super Kings on April 5.

So far, RCB and ticketing partners have not responded to the complaints. Fans are now hoping for a more transparent and fair booking process in future matches.
